Job Description

Job Summary

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for oversight of all HR functions, including supervision of Administrative HR staff. Provides HR support across corporate and plant levels with attention to employee relations.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues
  • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into employee complaints, grievances, and disputes
  • Experience with 401k audit and administration
  • Company representative for unemployment hearings
  • Assists in formulating, recommending, and writing HR policies and objectives.
  • Travels to all locations to evaluate HR functions, turnover, management practices, employee relations, and make recommendations for improvement; provides on-site training
  • Identifies legal issues and government regulations at locations; monitors company exposure.
  • Determines training needs and implements proper programs within regional area.
  • Assists and advises management on all HR issues.
  • Assists with succession planning strategies.
  • Supervises and directs HR staff and workflow including payroll, benefits, FMLA, COBRA, general HR functions.
  • Acts as HR contact on HR issues throughout regional area and all levels of the organization.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or other related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience as an HR Manager in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • HR Certification preferred; CP or SCP.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on generalist with ability to administer and direct HR functions.
  • Work well with others in a team environment.
  • Highly organized; superior time management skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and oral.
  • Self-motivated; self-starter; able to multi-task; proven leader.
  • Understands importance of confidentiality and integrity within the HR function.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
  • Occasionally lifts up to 10 lbs.
  • Regularly required reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequent travel required, approximately 35%.

Work Environment

Job functions will be carried out in an office and/or plant environment.
