Job Summary

Provides technical support to engineers and scientists on a variety of complex components, devices, material, products, processes and/or equipment. Works from complex wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches and running sheets of significant complexity. Interprets and follows written documents such as SOPs and safety rules. Diagnoses cause of electrical, optical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective maintenance. Modifies a variety of complex electrical prototypes to correct functional deviations. Leads training new team members.

Qualifications and Required Skills
  • Associates Degree in a technical discipline with 8+ years of experience (or equivalent education / experience in the field or in a related area).
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of process and tooling development of automated and semi-automated assembly equipment including the ability to program and debug equipment.
  • Capable of working in a Class 100 Cleanroom environment
  • Flexible and able to perform a variety of tasks and processes.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
Job Responsibilities
  • Self-starter with excellent verbal communication and documentation skills.
  • Must have the ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment with minimal direction/supervision.
  • Support solving complex equipment and material related issues, as well as assuming responsibility for identifying problems and implementing corrective action.
  • Hands-on experience of package assembly, including programming and process development for automated and semi-automated equipment.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are within calibration and maintenance requirements.
  • Provide technical assistance to engineers and support personnel.
  • Proficiency with electronic instruments and test equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned
Desired Skills

  • Experience / familiarity with digital cameras and microscopes.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, including interpretation of GD&T.
  • Ability to conceive tooling and generate fabrication drawings using ProE is a plus.
  • Experience in failure analysis testing and techniques including SEM, Auger, and FTIR.
  • Ability to operate various types of manufacturing or process equipment to conduct complex assignments.
  • Knowledge and execution skills in a majority of the following: epoxy dispense, die attach, wire bonding, part preparation, soldering, welding, mechanical and optical dimensional measurement.
  • Familiarity with analytical methods and the ability to follow a DOE precisely and make sound decisions when deviations are identified.
