Barnes has an exciting opportunity for students pursuing degrees in Finance or Accounting. Working between 8-20 hours per week, the intern candidate will work collaboratively with the Finance and Accounting Managers. Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing journal entries for month end close.
  • Assist in posting general journal entries in the general ledger account reconciliations in the Oracle system
  • Assist with testing the operating effectiveness of the corporate key controls within or business control assessment
  • Perform/observe physical counts of fixed assets from the corporate fixed asset sub-ledger
  • Support the Corporate Accounting Manager with various projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Must be an Accounting or Finance major in third or fourth year of college
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to effectively communicate and share information, knowledge, and expertise with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work well with others with limited supervision
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships which foster integrity and respect

Education Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Arts degree in Accounting or Finance
