Major Position Responsibilities

SUMMARY: Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers and prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services and supplies for customer-related business processes or for internal use as a generalist or in a combination of Purchasing Disciplines

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Develops and executes sourcing strategy, evaluates product offerings, recommends suppliers, and negotiates contracts for assigned categories or departments.
  • Gathers business requirements and identifies and pre-qualifies potential suppliers.
  • Develops and distributes RFPs/RFQs and collects bids or other information.
  • Evaluates proposals/quotes based on offering quality, cost, or other criteria and recommends suppliers that are best suited to meet the organization's requirements.
  • Works with selected suppliers to develop mutually acceptable contractual agreements.
  • May oversee tactical purchasing operations, such as the issuance of purchase orders or the payment of invoices.
  • Ensures that all procurement activities comply with internal policies and external regulations

Basic Qualifications

Education:

  • Associate's Degree or Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education & or Experience
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Discipline/Major: Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related degree
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Detail Oriented.
  • Negotiation Skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred:

  • Experience with start ups, such as project planning, and establishing business processes, management systems, and work instructions is desired. This is an exciting opportunity to create the business processes, systems, and culture to stand up a high performing manufacturing operation.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

Travel:

  • Little to no travel likely.
