Reporting to the VP of Human Resources, the Director, HR Operations and Global Mobility supports the full lifecycle of international and domestic employee relocation programs, expatriate assignments, and coordinates immigration activities. This position also provides supervision and guidance to HR Operations employees.

Communication and collaboration will be key for this role as you will work very closely with the rest of the HR team as well as our cross-functional partners in Recruiting, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, and Business Leaders as well as outside vendors to establish an effective, cost-efficient program to assist and support employees.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities HR Operations:
  • Day to day management and development of the US HR Operations team
  • Optimizing operational HR processes and systems by reviewing global processes and removing inefficiencies
  • Provide operational HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on policies, processes, and procedures
  • Act as a point of escalation on complex or difficult HR operational queries. Taking decisions to resolve issues as appropriate
  • Responsible and accountable for HR data integrity, security, quality and consistency, to deliver accurate and reliable data at all times and make sure processes are in place to meet requirement
Global Mobility:
  • Provides full lifecycle support of international assignments including pre-assignment services, ongoing assignment support, and post assignment services
  • Collaborates with International and host country HR on expatriate assignments
  • Prepares expat assignment letters, transfer agreements, cost estimates, certificates of coverage, and other international documents
  • Manages all aspects of international assignments with 3rd party relocation vendor including but not limited to: compensation and benefits, cost-of-living, transportation of personal goods, property management, tax advisors, cost of living, housing, school, international allowances, taxes and reconciliation, home leave and family benefits etc.
  • Coordinates compensation changes with host countries and updates for payroll processing
  • Collaborates with 3rd party tax providers to ensure accurate year-end tax reporting in the host and home countries of taxable assignment elements and shadow payroll elements
  • Coordinates onboarding of expats, local hires, emerging talent rotators and international interns
  • Reviews and processes expat expense invoices to ensure policy compliance and applies cost allocations
  • Provides relocation program support for the delivery of all domestic relocation services for employees and new hires including pre-decision counseling, policy interpretation, reviewing policy exceptions and policy maintenance
  • Initiates and monitors services with 3rd party domestic relocation vendor including shipment of household goods, temporary living, home search, BVO home sale program, home purchase, lump sum payment, and expense management
  • Collaborates with managers and HR business partners on relocation needs, cost projections, and relocation processes
Show your expertise
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 8 years HR experience in a fast-paced environment
  • People management experience or experience mentoring a team of assistants within HR
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with international and domestic relocation programs for multi-site organization
  • Basic understanding and experience with US and international tax laws/regulations and tax equalization
  • Proven stakeholder management at building professional relationships and influencing stakeholders, demonstrated courage in the face of adversity
  • Highly organized, meticulous about detail and accuracy, and get excited about process improvement
  • Service mentality and excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to clearly and concisely explain complex concepts and ideas
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a changing work environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure and effectively handle multiple, concurrent demands and appropriately prioritize responsibilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Preferred: Corporate immigration experience, Global Mobility Specialist Certification
  • Preferred: Work experience in a dynamic, large company environment
