The American Girl Dallas retail store team is a positive, energetic, and driven to create magical experiences for our guests. This team can work in a fast-paced environment and are able to adapt to the business needs while maintaining a fun and positive atmosphere for guests and employees.


The Opportunity:

The American Girl Dallas retail store is currently seeking a passionate Kitchen Manager (Asst Restaurant Manager) who can be innovative and thrive in a friendly and fast-paced environment. This position will report the Restaurant Manager and will be responsible for supervising and leading a team and ensuring we are creating a professional, respectful, positive work environment for our restaurant team and ensure we are following all restaurant guidelines, meeting health code standards, and creating a positive dining experience for our guests.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Assist the Restaurant Manager with the daily front-of-house and back-of-house operations of the restaurant, including monitoring service standards and food quality, resolving customer problems and employee relation issues, overseeing the operation of the Bistro and its relationship within the store, lead the ongoing development of new concepts and programs to promote the Bistro, and achieve revenue and expense goals.
  • Ensure dining experiences are memorable to encourage repeat Bistro visits.
  • Able to work cohesively with the store management team to create and provide exceptional events and programs.
  • Assist in the development and performance of the restaurant team and work with HR and the restaurant leadership team in the hiring and training of seasonal staff

What We're Looking For:

  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree from a reputable four-year institution, culinary school, or comparable experience.
  • Current state sanitation, Serve Safe, and Safe Alcohol Consumption certification, preferred.
  • Fine dining or related restaurant with high volume experience in supervisory/management position in a fast paced restaurant environment. Experience working with children is preferred.
  • Computer skills required for Microsoft word, Excel, restaurant reservation systems, POS systems, inventory systems, and basic office equipment.
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Demonstrated agrowth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.

The annual base salary range for this position starts at $49,600
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience.
