Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY/PRIMARY FUNCTION
Responsible for making our #1 critical success factor, safety first, a priority in all tasks and activities performed by self and all others involved. Fabricates and assembles metal products, equipment and machinery, such as trailers and special framework by performing the following duties.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Lays out and marks reference points onto components utilizing a tape measure.
2. Operates machines such as hem saws and drill press, to cut and shape components to specified dimensions.
3. Fits and assembles components.
4. Welds components together with a mig welder using flex core wire.
5. Develops layout and plans sequence of operations.
6. Positions, aligns, fits and welds together parts.
7. Designs and constructs templates and fixtures.
8. Verifies conformance of workpiece to specifications.
9. Fabricates and assembles sheet metal products.
10. Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
11. Assembles parts by bolting.
12. Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling parts.
13. Perform additional duties as assigned.
JOB CRITERIA
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must pass a 3G Welding Test.
